Marie Baum is known to have been a German politician and a social activist. Marie Baum was born on March 23, 1874, and she was a member of the German Democratic Party.
It must be noted that Marie Baum was one of the first female members of the Weimar National Assembly. She could also be considered as a pioneer within German welfare and workers security. Quite unfortunately, Marie Baum died on August 8, 1964.
With respect to education, Marie Baum studied at the University of Zurich where she read Chemistry. Between 1897 and 1899, Marie Baum served at the ETH Zurich but later on, she relocated to Berlin.
While in Berlin, she started getting involved in politics and social welfare in 1902. Marie Baum represented the German Democratic Party in 1919 and was subsequently elected as a member of the Weimar National Assembly for Schleswig-Holstein.
