Is Mahmood Engaged? Everything you need to know

Italian singer-songwriter Alessandro Mahmoud, better known by his stage name Mahmood, is a talented musician whose distinctive fusion of genres of music captivated listeners not just in Italy but also beyond. Mahmood’s rise to worldwide prominence from a modest Milan area is a fascinating narrative of ability, determination, and the strength of music, with a background that illustrates the wide range of contemporary Italy.

Early Life

Mahmood was raised in a multicultural environment after being born in Milan, Italy, on September 12, 1992, to a Sardinian mother from Orosei and an Egyptian father. Born and raised in Milan’s Gratosoglio neighborhood, his mother raised him most of the time after his parents split up when he was only five years old.

Career

Mahmood’s musical journey began in 2012 when he auditioned for the sixth season of the Italian version of “The X Factor.” Although he faced elimination during the competition, it was a stepping stone for him. Afterward, he worked in a bar and attended a music school, honing his skills in piano, solfeggio, and music theory. During this time, he also began writing his songs.

In 2013, Mahmood released his debut single, “Fallin’ Rain,” which marked the beginning of his journey as a recording artist. Over the years, he collaborated with other artists, including being featured on Fabri Fibra’s single “Luna” in 2017.
The turning point in Mahmood’s career came when he participated in the Newcomers Section of the Sanremo Music Festival in 2016 with the song “Dimentica.” His participation in the festival earned him recognition and set the stage for his future successes.

In 2018, Mahmood released his debut extended play, “Gioventù bruciata,” which solidified his presence in the Italian music scene. That same year, he also contributed to Marco Mengoni’s album “Atlantico,” co-writing several tracks, including the single “Hola (I Say).”

However, Mahmood’s true breakthrough came in 2019 when he competed in the 69th Sanremo Music Festival with his song “Soldi.” The song, with its contemporary and unique sound, quickly gained popularity and became a favorite among both the audience and music experts. Mahmood’s captivating performance earned him a spot in the top three acts of the competition, and he ultimately won the festival. “Soldi” not only won the festival but also became an instant hit, topping the charts and receiving international recognition.

Mahmood made a lasting impression on the music business after winning the Eurovision, releasing his second studio album, “Ghettolimpo,” in 2021. The album had several hit songs, like “Rapide,” “Dorado,” and “Klan.”

Mahmood participated at the Sanremo Music Festival again in 2022, this time with Blanco, and their song “Brividi” won them the competition. They thus went on to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest once more. They placed a creditable sixth in Turin thanks to their performance.

Who is Mahmood Engaged to?

There were rumors in 2019 about the relationship between Mahmood and Mengoni. However, Marco and Mahmood have maintained a veil of privacy around their romantic lives, neither confirming nor denying the speculations circulated by the media. Presently, it remains uncertain whether they are in a relationship with each other or if they are involved with other individuals.
