Mark Allen was born on February 22, 1986, and he is a Northern Irish professional snooker player. He hails from Antrim and in 2004, he won the World Amateur Championship. The following year he turned professional and after just three seasons, he reached the Top 16. He defeated defending Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in his fourth professional season and qualified for the semi-finals of the 2009 World Championship.
However, he lost in the finals against John Higgins.
At the 2011 UK Championship, Mark Allen reached his first ranking final but he was defeated by Judd Trump. At the 2012 World Open, Mark Allen won his first ranking title.
He also won his first Triple Crown title after defeating Kyren Wilson in his win in the 2018 Masters. His second Triple Win was at the 2022 UK Championship when Ding Junhul succumbed to him. Mark Allen also participated in the 2020 Northern Ireland Open, the 2022 UK Championship, the 2023 World Grand Prix as well as the 2023 World Snooker Championship.
It must be noted that Mark Allen has recorded over 550 century breaks in his professional career. He also has two maximum breaks to his credit; one at the 2016 UK Championship and the second at the 2021 Northern Ireland Open.
In his career, Mark Allen has a total of 9 ranking titles. Mark Allen reached four ranking finals and won three and this was at the 2022 Northern Ireland Open, 2022 UK Championship and the 2023 World Grand Prix.
He was ranked number three in the world rankings. He lost in the semi-finals of the 2023 World Snooker Championship to Mark Selby.

Due to a conversation Mark Allen had with Ronnie O’Sullivan and concerns from his friends during the 2022 World Snooker Championship, he set forth to lose weight. In the process, he lost 32 kilograms but before then, he weighed about 120 kilograms
Relationship
Mark Allen started a relationship with Reanne Evans, women’s world snooker champion in 2005. They gave birth to a daughter in May 2006 and she was called Sophie.
However, their relationship came to an end in 2008. Mark Allen became depressed. They were involved in a legal tussle over child maintenance payments. Subsequently, Mark Allen married Kyla McGulgan on May 10, 2013, after they had met in 2011.
They had a daughter in 2017. Mark Allen and Kyla also separated but while they were in the process of divorcing, Mark Allen declared him bankrupt. After their divorce, Mark Allen settled down with Aiden Cassidy.
