Christel Sembach-Krone served as the director of the largest traveling circus in Europe. She was born on November 27, 1936, and her parents were Carl Sembach (1908–1984) and Frieda Sembach-Krone (1915–1995).
Following the death of her mother, she ran the Circus Krone. It is also worth noting that Krone is the only European circus that has a permanent, usable winter building: the Krone building in Munich with around 3,000 seats.
Christel Sembach-Krone made appearances in her circus between 1956 and 2006 and he showed horses. When Christel Sembach-Krone was in her youthful age, she rode dressage and showed freedom dressage.
Later, she only showed freedom dressage til she retired in 2007. Christel Sembach-Krone was noted to be the creator of the Krone programs. The Krone programs offered many artistic and circus attractions.
She worked with the American choreographer Gene Reed in the mid-1990s. Christel Sembach-Krone had to discontinue with Circus due to a hip problem. She never got married and did not have any children. She also adopted Jana Mandana Lacey-Krone, the Swiss animal teacher who lived with Martin Lacey Jr.
As a result of violating animal protection law, Christel Sembach-Krone was fined 2,500 euros by German authorities in 2006 but the fine was reduced to 1,000 euros by the responsible district court in 2009 after an appeal.
Many rights organizations also filed several lawsuits against Christel Sembach-Krone, as she also filed lawsuits against animal rights activists.
Christel Sembach-Krone Cause of Death
Christel Sembach-Krone died on June 20, 2017 . She was 80 years old at the time of her death. Christel Sembach-Krone died in Munich and she was buried in the Munich Forest Cemetery. The cause of her death is not readily available.
Christel Sembach-Krone Honors
Christel Sembach-Krone was awarded the Munich Shines medal on December 25, 1996, for her services as an ambassador of Bavaria.
She was also awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit during a circus performance on December 25, 1998by the then Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber.
Christel Sembach-Krone was the proud recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit for her social commitment and life’s work and she even had a street in the Munich district of Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied was named after her in 2019.
