Hinnerk Baumgarten Biography
Hinnerk Baumgarten, born on January 5, 1968, in Hanover, is a well-known German radio and television presenter.
He began his career in 1997 as the host of Hitradio Antenne Niedersachsen’s morning show, where he quickly garnered fame and a reputation for his engaging and amusing approach.
Baumgarten switched to NDR television in Hanover in 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he hosted the show Hallo Niedersachsen and afterward became the face of Lust auf Norden until 2007.
During this time, Baumgarten demonstrated his diverse abilities and enthralled audiences with his wit and charm.

Baumgarten became a key element of the permanent moderation crew for the TV chat show DAS! after transferring to Hamburg inside the NDR. This role cemented his reputation as a gifted presenter.
Baumgarten also worked as a radio host on NDR 2 from September 1, 2008 to December 4, 2020. He initially shared the afternoon slot on NDR2 with Elke Wiswedel before moving to the morning slot in September 2015.
Baumgarten has taken on a variety of additional ventures in addition to his normal hosting duties. He hosted Day of the North Germans, an 18-hour documentary with live portions, in 2012.
He also hosts the NDR format Echt Was Los, which features live coverage of events including the Hamburg Port Birthday, Cruise Days, the Herrnhausen Fireworks Competition, and the Werner-Das Race 2018.
Baumgarten has occasionally been involved in controversies. Due to difficulties between the two, an interview with actress Katja Riemann on the Red Sofa in 2013 made national headlines.
He was beaten and knocked unconscious in Mallorca in 2017 after criticizing two inebriated German tourists for urinating down a wall onto the beach at Ballermann, a renowned tourist destination.
Furthermore, Baumgarten was warned by his broadcaster NDR in 2018 after a verbal altercation with his colleague Heike Götz.
Baumgarten is the proud father of an adult daughter and lives in Hamburg outside of work. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his motorbike and playing golf.
He is also an active member of the golf community, serving as co-editor of the golf magazine Golf’N’Style. He also presents the accompanying podcast green&juicy, demonstrating his vast variety of interests and talents.
