Wolfgang Schauble Daughter: Full Details

Wolfgang Schäuble can be described as a German lawyer, politician and statesman. He was born on September 18, 1942, and he has been involved in politics for over 50 years. Without a doubt, he is one of the longest-serving politicians in German history. He is a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and served as President of the Bundestag from 2017 to 2021.

With respect to education, Wolfgang Schäuble was educated at the University of Freiburg and the University of Hamburg. As a practicing lawyer, he worked at the district court of Offenburg in 1978. His career in politics commenced in 1969 when he became a member of the Junge Union, the youth division of the CDU and CSU. Wolfgang Schäuble won the constituency seat of Offenburg and had the chance to be at the Bundestag in 1972.

In 1984, he was made the Minister for Special Affairs by Chancellor Helmut Kohl and in 1989 due to a reshuffle, he became the Minister of the Interior. Many people tipped him to become Chancellor of Germany regardless of criticisms and opposition from civil rights activists for his law and order policies.

Wolfgang Schäuble became the Chairman of the CDU after its loss in the 1998 federal election. However, he resigned in less than two years due to the 1999 party financing scandal. Wolfgang Schäuble subsequently became the Minister of the Interior in the Cabinet of Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2005 and in 2009, he was the Minister of Finance.

He was nominated as President of the Bundestag on September 27, 2017, by the CDU/CSU group in the Bundestag. He assumed the position on October 24, 2017. H had to leave office in October 2021 after the defeat of the CDU/CSU in the 2021 German federal election.

Wolfgang Schauble has three daughters and a son. The three daughters are Christine, Juliane and Anna, and his son is Hans-Jörg. He is married to to economist, teacher and former Welthungerhilfe chairwoman Ingeborg Hensle.

They have been married since 1969. Wolfgang Schauble and his family lived in Offenburg but used to live in Gengenbach.

Personal Details

Wolfgang Schäuble is the son of a tax finance advisor and politician Karl Schäuble and Gertrud Göhring. He has two siblings and he studied law and economics at the University of Freiburg and the University of Hamburg.

He received a doctorate degree in law in 1971 and worked on the dissertation “The public accountant’s professional legal situation within accountancy firms”.
