Willigis Jager Cause of Death: Full Details

Willigis Jager was a German Catholic priest and Benedictine monk who was born on March 7, 1925. He was also a Zen master. He trained and taught other people in the Sanbo Kyodan tradition. Willigis Jager was the brain behind a center of Zen and contemplation at the Munsterschwarzach Abbey in 1983. He also founded Benediktushof in 2003. Benediktushof was an inter-faith center of meditation and awareness.

Willis Jager entered the Benedictine Order at Munsterschwarzach Abbey in 1946. He studied Philosophy and Theology. Later in 1952,  he was ordained a priest. It must also be noted that he was a teacher in the Abbey’s Secondary School. He was also responsible for the mission and development at the Bund DER Deutschen Katholischen Youth Association from 1960. He began working for Missio in the same year. Mission was an ecumenical missionary movement that facilitated his trips to several countries. Later from 1972, Willis Jager studied Zen in Japan for six years. He learnt Zen with Hugo Lassallle and Yamada Ko-Un Roshi and entered Yamada’s convent in 1975. He was given permission and authorization to teach other people Zen in 1980.

The teaching style of Willis Jager was questioned by the Catholic authorities in 2000. Subsequently, he was not given permission to teach at public events and in writing in 2002. He still continued with his work even though he left the Abbey. Later in 2007, Willis Jager set up the foundation called West-Ostilche Weisheit which focused on propagating the spirituality taught at the Benediktushof.

Willis Jager died on March 20, 2020. He died in Holzkirchen but the cause of his death is yet to be updated. The net of Willigis Jager is estimated to be between $1 million and $6 million dollars. Much of his wealth was amassed through his teaching career. Details about his height and weight are currently not available.
