Cruz was born in Spain to car mechanic and Extremaduran retailer, Eduardo Cruz and a hairdresser and personal manager mother, Encarna Sánchez. She has three siblings; two full siblings and a half sister on her father’s side.

Cruz has always had a thing for acting and dancing while growing up. Even when playing with friends, she was often seen acting. However, she initially focused on dancing by taking classical ballet lessons for about nine years at the National Conservatory in Spain.

According to her, ballet has really influenced her acting career as it taught her discipline. Even while taking ballet lessons, Cruz was also deeply in love with acting and started going for auditions while in high school.
