He grew up in The Cricketers, a pub/restaurant owned by his parents, Trevor and Sally Oliver. Jamie developed his love of cooking in this environment, spending time in the kitchen with his parents.
Jamie attended Westminster Technical College after leaving school at the age of 16 with little qualifications, where he received a City & Guilds National Vocational Qualification in home economics.
