Gianluca Mancini, born on April 17, 1996, is an Italian professional football player who currently plays as a centre-back for Serie A club Roma and the Italy national team.

Mancini began his professional career on loan with Perugia in mid-2015, with a purchase option.
On September 11, 2015, he made his Serie B debut against Pescara. Despite a brief return to his parent club, Fiorentina, the counter-option was activated, and Fiorentina confirmed on August 1, 2016, that Mancini had been sold outright to Perugia.
Although the deal was free, Fiorentina is still entitled to 50% of any future transfer fees.
Atalanta signed Mancini and Alessandro Santopadre in January 2017 for €200,000 and €1 million, respectively.
They were, however, immediately returned to Perugia. The transaction was investigated for allegedly manipulating transfer fees, although both teams and the chairman were later cleared of any wrongdoing.
Mancini made his Serie A debut for Atalanta, drawing 1-1 with his former club Fiorentina. On February 4, 2018, he scored his first goal for Atalanta in a 1-0 victory over Chievo.
Mancini’s talent piqued Roma’s interest, and he joined the club on loan with a purchase option on July 17, 2019.
