Gabriel Attal can be described as a French politician who was born on March 16, 1989, in Clamart, Île-de-France. He is currently 34 years old and he has served as the Prime Minister of France since January 2024. He is also a member of the Renaissance Party and was elected to the National Assembly in June 2017.

Gabriel Attal was appointed the Junior Minister to the Minister of National Education and Youth in 2018; becoming the youngest person to serve in the Government of France, the Spokesperson of the Government in 2020, the Minister of Public Action and Accounts in 2022, and the Minister of National Education and Youth in 2023.

It must be noted that Gabriel Attal was subsequently appointed by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, to replace Élisabeth Borne as the Prime Minister of France on January 9, 2024. At age 34, Gabriel Attal can be said to be the youngest person and the first openly gay person to serve as the Prime Minister of France as well as the ninth openly LGBT person and the youngest person at present to serve as a head of state or government in the world.

Concerning education, Gabriel Attal was a student at École alsacienne, an exclusive private school in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. He earned a Baccalauréat with a “Mention Très Bien” in 2007. Gabriel Attal furthered his education by studying Law at Panthéon-Assas University from 2008 to 2011.

He earned a Master of Public Affairs in 2012 after graduating from Sciences Po. From 2009 to 2010, Gabriel Attal worked with Éric de Chassey, director of the French Academy at Rome. Gabriel Attal’s political career was inspired when he participated in the 2006 youth protests in France. He created a committee for the support of Íngrid Betancourt, the Franco-Colombian hostage held by the FARC in 2007.

Gabriel Attal was born to Yves Attal and Marie de Couriss. It must be noted that Yves Attal served as a lawyer and film producer of half-Tunisian Jewish descent (on the paternal side) and half-Alsatian Jewish descent (on the maternal side).

On the other hand, Marie de Couriss worked as an employee of a film production company.

Gabriel Attal had a civil with  Stéphane Séjourné, a member of the European Parliament for LREM but their relationship collapsed in 2023. Gabriel Attal once dated singer Joyce Jonathan.
