Carola Puddu’s Biography
Carola Puddu, a talented and passionate dancer, began her journey in the world of dance at the tender age of 4 in Cagliari, Sardinia.
Carola has shown exceptional talent and perseverance, guided by her Polish teacher, Anna Kukurba.
Carola’s enthusiasm for dance led her to relocate to France at nine to enrol in the famed ballet school of the Paris Opera Ballet, known as the École de Danse du Ballet de l’Opera de Paris.
Carola refined her skills and began a hard training programme that shaped her into the excellent dancer she is today. She devoted herself to her studies, immersing herself in dance and striving to achieve new heights.
Carola’s potential was recognised during her time at the Paris Opera, and she was given the opportunity to display her skills in solo roles at the age of 17.
She performed pieces by prominent choreographers such as Roland Petit, Maurice Béjart, Auguste Bournonville, William Forsythe, George Balanchine, and Marius Petipa at this point in her career.
Carola’s versatility and technical ability enabled her to flourish in a wide range of styles and interpretations.
Carola’s talent blossomed as she began to travel and perform with world-renowned ballet companies.
She had the honour of performing at the legendary Stanislavsky Theatre in Moscow, Russia, and joined the Hamburg Ballet in Germany.
These experiences introduced her to many cultures and gave her the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s most renowned dancers and choreographers.
Carola made another important career move in 2019 when she went to Toronto, Canada.
She then enrolled in the Professional Training Programme at Canada’s National Ballet School, where she broadened her horizons and experimented with various styles.
Carola’s hard work and dedication paid off, and she was able to dance in performances by Spanish choreographer Roman Oller, including a contemporary reworking of “Romeo and Juliet” in which she played Juliet’s mother.
Carola has always been interested in pushing herself outside of her comfort zone. In Canada, she immersed herself in contemporary dance and embraced the Gaga Movement, allowing her to experiment with new artistic expressions and refine her skills.
Carola took an unexpected turn in 2021 when she auditioned for the famed Italian TV show “Amici di Maria De Filippi.” Carola’s ability and charisma captured both the judges and the crowd under the tutelage of teacher Alessandra Celentano.
Her participation in the programme provided her with an opportunity to demonstrate her versatility and love of dancing.
Carola was offered an exceptional opportunity to join the crew of Balletto di Roma, a renowned dance company in Italy, after leaving “Amici di Maria De Filippi.”
Carola was not only invited to be a part of the company but she was also entrusted with the role of Juliet in Fabrizio Monteverde’s renowned ballet “Romeo and Juliet.”
This specific performance honoured the 20th anniversary of Balletto di Roma’s acclaimed creative production.
