Joseph van Vicker, popularly known as Van Vicker was born on 1^st August,1977.

He is a Ghanaian actor, movie director and humanitarian. His father is a Dutch and his mother is a Ghanaian Liberian.

His father unfortunately passed away when he was only six years old. He has a sister whose name is Phylicia Anderson.

Van Vicker attended Senior High School at Mfantsipim with Majid Michel.

He is married to Adjoa Vicker and they have three children together and two children from his previous marriage.

The children he has with his wife are Junior Joseph Vicker, Jeto Van Vicker and Julian Van Vicker.

VAN VICKER’s CAREER

Van Vicker began his career as a television personality and radio presenter from 1990 to 2000, working for TV3, Metro TV, Vibe FM and Groove FM.

He acted the then popular television series known as Sun City from 2000-2004. The popular actor owns a training firm that aims to train upcoming people who have an interest in acting.

Aside that, he has also founded a Non-Governmental Organization known as Van Vicker Foundation known to help bring out gifts in the youth and to empower them.

Van Vicker acquired two nominations for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” and “Best Upcoming Actor” at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2008.

In 2009, he went away with the “Best  African Carribean Actor” and “Best Actor African American”. In 2011, he won the Pan African creative actor award.

He also won the “Best Comedy Movie” in 2012 and “Best Actor” in 2013 by Nafca and Ghana Movie Awards respectively. These last two awards he won with the same movie “Joni Waka”.

The popular actor also walked away with the Best Collaboration Award with the movie: “Broni W’awu” at Kumawood Awards.
