Valentin Lusin was born on February 22, 1987, in Leningrad, Soviet Union. He has established himself as a well-known Russian dancer and dance sports coach in the profession. His journey from his early Russian upbringing to the dance floors of Germany is proof of his talent, dedication, and love for the art form.

Early Years and Career

At the age of seven, Valentin Lusin relocated from Russia to Düsseldorf, Germany, where he kept up his passion for dance. At nine years old, Lusin had his dancing debut. During his early years, he participated in group projects that would later shape his creative path.

Between September 1997 and August 2001, he danced with Claudia Nandzik; from August 2001 to June 2003, he danced in tandem with Olga Nesterova. But his career took off in the summer of 2003 when he teamed up with Renata Buschejewa at the TD Tanzsportclub Düsseldorf Rot-Weiss.

Renata Buschejewa and Valentin Lusin comprised a powerful dance team that won several national titles in the main divisions of S-Latin and S-Standard. Their abilities were demonstrated by their several ranking competition victories, their two victories in the German championship over ten dances, and their top finishes in national and international championships.

The two became professionals when they joined the German Dancing Sports Association in the autumn of 2017. Their victory in the Professional Showdance Standard World Championship in October 2021 was the pinnacle of their competitive dancing career.

Beyond his achievements as a dancer, Valentin Lusin acknowledged instructing as a skill. For two years, he helped with the TD TSC Düsseldorf Rot-Weiß standard formation. He also co-coached the A team of the TSZ Aachen/TD TSC Düsseldorf Rot-Weiß formation community with Oliver Seefeldt from the summer of 2013 until the end of the 2015–16 season.

Alongside Rüdiger Knaack and Thomas Kitta, Lusin assumed coaching duties for the Braunschweiger TSC’s standard formation during the 2018–19 campaign. He also coached the standard tournament pairs at TSC Schwarz-Gelb Aachen and TD TSC Düsseldorf Rot-Weiss.

Lusin strived for academic success, attending the University of Cologne and the Cologne Sports University to study biology and sports to become a teacher.
