Uwe Kramm Fathers Biography
Heinz Georg Kramm, better known by his stage name Heino, is a legendary German singer celebrated for his remarkable contributions to Schlager and traditional Volksmusik.
Heino’s early years were marked by hardship, as he lived with his mother and older sister Hannelore in Pomerania until 1945. Subsequently, he began his education in Großenhain, Saxony. In 1952, the family moved to Düsseldorf, where Heino initially trained as a baker and confectioner.
His stage name, “Heino,” was chosen because his sister Hannelore found it challenging to pronounce his given name, “Heinz Georg.”
Heino made his stage debut with the musical group OK Singers in 1961. Midway through the 1960s, he made a big splash in the German music scene and went on to consistently top the charts there. He frequently appeared on well-known German television programs like ZDF-Fernsehgarten, Musikantenstadl, and Hitparade.
Heino released the album “Mit freundlichen Grüßen” (Yours sincerely) in 2013, veering away from his usual Schlager and Volksmusik style and adopting a Pop-Rock/Metal sound. This daring move was well received by fans, reached the top of the German album charts, and was given a Gold certification.
Heino continued to push boundaries by releasing “Schwarz blüht der Enzian” (Black blooms the Gentian) in 2014. This song was a nod to his previous hit “Blau blüht der Enzian,” and it featured a Rock-/Metal sound that combined his original songs with classical German Volksmusik.
When Heino’s holiday album, “Mit weihnachtlichen Grüßen” (With Christmas greetings), was released in 2016, it delighted fans and included a duet with Sarah Jane Scott, another singer.
