Tommy Davidson is an American comedian and actor. He was born on November 10, 1963, in Greenville, Mississippi. It has been reported that when Tommy Davidson was just 18 months old, his biological parents abandoned in some trash.
He was luckily rescued by a woman who became his adoptive mother. His new parents changed his name to Thomas Davidson and when he was five years old, his new family moved from Colorado to Wyoming to Oregon.
The adoptive parents of Tommy Davidson unfortunately divorced and so he had to relocate to Washington, D.C. with the entire family. The family has also stayed at Wheaton, Maryland, Rosemary Hills in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.
With regards to education, Tommy Davidson attended Rosemary Hills Elementary School, Sligo Middle School, and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, in Bethesda, Maryland. He also had studies in Communications and had an internship at the radio station of the University of the District of Columbia for one semester.
As a young guy growing up, Tommy Davidson worked in the kitchen of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and had a cleaning job at Roy Rogers.
The career of Tommy Davidson as a comedian started in 1986. That was when he had to do stand-up comedy at The Penthouse strip club in Park View, Washington, D.C.
After that experience, he performed in some comedy clubs in the Washington Metropolitan region, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He was made to open concerts for the likes of Patti LaBelle, Starpoint, and Kenny G. Tommy Davidson also had the rare opportunity to perform on a fundraising telethon for WHMM in 1987.
He won an amateur stand-up competition at the Apollo Theater in 1987 and then moved to North Hollywood, California. Robert Townsend got wind of Tommy Davidson as he performed at the Comedy Store.
Subsequently, through the assistance of Robert Townsend, he was used as warm-up comic for an HBO special and got the chance to appear on the Arsenio Hall Show after performing at Luther Vandross and Anita Baker shows.
Tommy Davidson played a role in the sketch comedy TV show In Living Color and was also part of Between Brothers (1997–1999), Malcolm & Eddie (1999–2000), The Proud Family (2001–2005) and its 2022 revival, Rushon in Booty Call (1997).
He also appeared in Bamboozled (2000), Black Dynamite (2009) and its subsequent television series.
Tommy Davidson Siblings
Tommy Davidson has two siblings. The two siblings are Michael Davidson and Beryle.
His adoptive mother who took care of him as well as his siblings is Barbara Davidson. His adoptive parents are believed to be Caucasian.
Michael Davidson died from HIV-AIDS. It is interesting to note the siblings of Tommy Davidson are whites and also older than him.
Regardless of the fact that Tommy Davidson isn’t white, he had a very good upbringing in the hands of Barbara Davidson with Michael Davidson and Beryle as his brother and sister respectively.
Not much is readily known about Michael Davidson and Beryle. In some instances, Tommy Davidson has referred to Beryle as his twin sister.
