Timo Glock’s Biography
Timo Glock was born on March 18, 1982, in Lindenfels, West Germany. Glock began his motorsport career at the age of 15 in 1998.
He quickly ascended through the ranks, winning multiple karting titles, including the BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup in 2000. In 2001, he won the Formula BMW ADAC championship.
Glock’s talent and expertise allowed him to compete in the Formula Three Euroseries in 2003, winning three races and finishing fifth overall.
He then moved to the United States to compete in the Champ Car World Series in 2005. He had a good season, finishing second at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Canada.
2006 Glock relocated to Europe to compete in the GP2 Series, the level immediately below Formula One. He had tremendous success, placing fourth in the drivers’ standings and receiving the series’ “Most Improved Driver” award. This led to his appointment as a test driver for BMW Sauber in Formula One in 2007.
Glock began his Formula One career in 2008 when he signed with Toyota F1. He earned his first points at the Canadian Grand Prix, finishing fourth. He finished sixth in the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix and contributed to Lewis Hamilton’s Drivers’ Championship victory.
Glock continued to race for Toyota until 2009, finishing in the top ten of the Drivers’ Championship in 2008 and 2009.
Following his departure from Formula One in 2013, Glock became a works driver for BMW in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. In 2013, he finished third in the DTM and won the season finale.
Glock is well-known for his ability and commitment to the racetrack. He currently lives in Switzerland with his German model wife, Isabell Reis.
