There were no cultural elements in the song – Mr Logic on ‘Stir it up’ Refix

Endless discussions ongoing on the recently released refix of Bob Marley’s hit record ‘Stir it up’ which featured Ghana’s rap star Sarkodie.

Some Ghanaians were unhappy about the fact that Sarkodie rapped mostly in Twi, his local language and Sarkodie shared in their sentiment but said that it was Bob Marley’s family that requested for the local language, reason why they brought the song to Africa.

On United Showbiz show hosted by Abeiku Santana yesterday Mr Logic, a regular pundit and a sound engineer expressed his disappointment in the fact that the producer, Mog beatz did not include some local instruments in the production.

In his opinion aside the fact that Sarkodie used more of Twi which is a local language for his verse, Sarkodie had the power to own the song by changing the style to suit the Ghanaian local ear and that Sarkodie could have made a rendition rather than a refix.
