Tanja Beyer can be described as a German diplomat. Tanja Beyer has been serving as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Malta since 2023. She graduated from high school in 1993 and then continued her education at the University of Hamburg.
In 1999, Tanja Beyer passed the first state examination in law. She had her postgraduate law studies and completed at the University of Glasgow in 2000. She had her legal traineeship in Hamburg from 2000 to 2003 and subsequently passed the second state law examination in 2003.
Tanja Beyer served at the embassy in Kazakhstan from 2005 to 2007 and between 2007 and 2008 she worked in Astana. She was at the foreign office from 2008 to 2010 and then from 2010 to 2014, she worked at the embassy in Ukraine.

She became the deputy head of a department in the foreign office from 2017 to 2021 and then became the consul general in Donetsk in 2021 till mid-February 2022 when the consulate general had to be closed down due to the war in Ukraine.
Between 2022 and 2023, Tanja Beyer was head of a department in the foreign office.
