Siegfried Balleis can be described as a German politician who was born on August 4, 1953 in Nuremberg. Siegfried Balleis is a member of the Christian Social Union and it must be noted that between May 1, 1996 and April 30, 2014 , he served as the mayor of the city of Erlangen.
Siegfried Balleis was also the special coordinator for the emergency ‘clean air’ program between 2017 and 2020.
With respect to education, Siegfried Balleis furthered his education at Hardenburg-Gymnasium after completing elementary school. He attended the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlanger-Nuremburg where he studied Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.
Prior to that , he had studied Political Science, Sociology and Philosophy. Siegfried Balleis graduated in 1980 and earned a degree in business administration. He worked as a research assistant at FAU and also served under Bundestag member , Peter Wilheim Hoffkes.
Siegfried Balleis had his doctorate in Political and Communication Sciences. He had a working relationship with Siemens AG beginning from 1984 and later in 1988, he relocated to Erlanger as a consultant for economics and real estate.
He holds different positions in several clubs, associations and other supervisory bodies.
In 2006, Siegfried Balleis received the Helmut Volz Medal from the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremburg. He received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2011, the Honorary Senator of the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen in 2013 as well as Honorary citizen of Erlangen in 2014.
