Siegfried Balke was known to be a German politician with the Christian Social Union(CSU). Siegfried Balke was born on June 1, 1902 and he died on June 11, 1984.
It must be noted that Siegfried Balke served in the capacity of German Federal Minister for Post and Communication from 1953 to 1956.
He also served as the German Federal Minister for Nuclear Energy between 1956 and 1962.
With respect to education, it must be noted that Siegfried Balke had his master’s degree in Chemistry in 1924. He furthered his education with a doctorate in Chemistry the following year.
He found it very difficult to pursue an academic career in Germany in the Nazi period as he was described as a half -Jew. It must be known that Siegfried Balke served in different positions in different companies between 1925 and 1952 .
However, in 1952, he became the Director of Wacker Chemie. He became an executive of the German chemical industry and subsequently became the Chairman of the Association of the Bavarian Chemical Industry. Siegfried Balke was an honorary professor for Chemical Processing at the Ludwig-Maximillians-University in Munich.
He assumed the position of President of the Confederation of German Employer’s Associations from 1964 to 1969. This was after he had resigned from the Minister of Nuclear Energy position. He was also the Chairman of the Technical Monitoring Association(TUV).
He was a member of the German parliament from 1957 to 1969 .
