Sebastian Vettel, born on July 3, 1987, in Heppenheim, West Germany, began his motorsport career at the age of three, with karting. He quickly advanced through the ranks, winning several karting championships before transitioning to open-wheel cars.
Vettel’s Formula One career began in 2007 when he joined BMW Sauber as a test driver. He made his race debut with the team later that year before becoming a full-time driver for Toro Rosso in 2008.
In his first year with Toro Rosso, Vettel won the Italian Grand Prix, making him the youngest race winner in Formula One history. He was eventually moved to Red Bull Racing in 2009.
Vettel was a huge success at Red Bull, winning four consecutive World Drivers’ Championships from 2010 to 2013. During his stint with the team, he became Formula One’s youngest World Champion and set the record for the most consecutive race wins with nine.
Following his time at Red Bull, Vettel raced for Ferrari from 2015 until 2020 before joining Aston Martin for his final two seasons in Formula One. Vettel has won 53 races, finished on the podium 122 times, and held 57 pole positions during his career.
Aside from Formula One, Vettel has competed in the Race of Champions, winning multiple times and representing the German team with Michael Schumacher.
