Rosario was born to Isabel Celeste and Patrick C. Harris. She was born when her mother was just 17 years old. Her mother never married her father. Rosario’s mother got married to Greg Dawson when Rosario was a year old.

Greg Dawson was a construction worker. Rosario adopted a 12-year-old girl in 2014 and later in 2019, she confirmed that she was in a relationship with US Senator Cory Booker. However, the relationship between Rosario and the US Senator ended in February 2022.
