Peter Felten can be described as a German diplomat. Peter Felten was born on May 4, 1965, and since August 2022, he has been serving as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro. It must be noted that as Ambassador, he also heads the Podgorico Embassy. He completed military service and trained to become a banker after he had finished high school in 1984.
He attended the universities of Augsburg and Lyon in 1987 where he studied economics. He successfully graduated and joined the foreign service in May 1993. Peter Felten has over the years worked at various missions as well as the headquarters of the foreign office in Berlin since 1994.
Peter Felten served as the Permanent Representative of the German consul General in Saratow between 1995 and 1998. It must be noted that subsequently between 1998 and 2001, he served as human rights officer at the German Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.
He was the Speaker in minutes of the Foreign Office in Berlin, headed the economic service of the Germany embassy in Portugal, and also served as foreign policy advisor to Siemens AG in Munich between 2007 and 2008. It must be noted that over the years, Peter Felten has worked and served in different positions.
Prior to becoming ambassador in Mongolia, he was the deputy head of the German embassy in Iraq as of July 2020.
