Pentecost Hospital previously known as Alpha Medical Center began operations in May 1997 at Madina. The aim of the hospital was to offer health care and services to those residing at Madina and other areas. It was founded by the Church of Pentecost.
Pentecost Hospital is accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme Board and is the Municipal Hospital for La Nkwantanan – Madina. The hospital accepts referred cases from clinics and health centers in the municipality and other areas.
The Pentecost Hospital has the following departments with their respective services:
Departments
Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department
Over here, they are concerned with the care of women, not just pregnancy related issues but also female sexuality. They provide routine medical screenings as well as surgeries relating to female conditions
Ophthalmology Department
They have modern equipment and offer eye tests. They have variety of lenses and frames.
Endoscopy Department
This section helps in diagnosis and management of diseases that require such investigations. They provide services like: cystoscopy, hysteroscopy and visualization and examination of upper gastrointestinal tract as and when indicated.
Accident Center and Emergency
This is where those involved in accidents and various emergency cases needing urgent attention go to. The hospital has specialists that attend to trauma cases, accidents and orthopaedic cases.
Renal Dialysis Department
Here, they use a device to filter the blood of those who have damaged kidneys such that waste can no longer be filtered through them. The hospital offers different types of dialysis.
Out Patient Department
Here, they attend especially to people who come to the hospital to do diagnostic tests and simple surgical procedures. Mostly, such patients are not admitted.
Dental Department
They offer services like cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, emergency dental care, checkups, treating periodontal diseases, tooth extraction, fillings, dental crowns, root canal, dental bridges and oral surgery.
Laboratory Department
The hospital’s laboratory is well equipped with devices that help with diagnostics. The laboratory services they offer are: General Haematology, Clinical Microbiology, Immunology, Chemical Pathology , Histopathology and Special Chemical Pathology.
Child Health Department
They care for children who are under the age of 13.
Pharmaceutical Department
Here, they have different types of drugs in store which can be purchased with prescriptions.
The Pentecost Hospital’s working days and hours are as follows :
Mondays to Fridays – 8:00am to 5:00pm
Saturdays and Sundays – 12:00pm to 7:00pm
Their emergency services are for 24 hours.
