Who are Paul Reubens’s children? Did Paul Reubens have any children? Paul Reubens was well-loved by many, children included hugely due to his Pee-Wee character.

Aside from the Pee-wee Herman show and films “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” & “Big Top Pee-wee”, Reubens was also very popular for the children’s program “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” from 1986 to 1990.

Who Was Paul Reubens?

Paul Reubens was an award-winning American actor, comedian, writer and producer born on August 27, 1952, to Jewish parents named Judy and Milton Rubenfeld. His mother was a teacher whereas his father was a pilot for the Royal Air Force and U.S. Army in the Second World War.

He was the oldest of three siblings. His younger sister, Abby Rubenfeld is a respected civil rights attorney whereas his brother, Luke Rubenfeld is a qualified dog trainer with vast experience in his field. When they were kids, Reubens convinced his father to build a stage for him where he and his younger siblings can act plays.

He joined the school drama when he attended Sarasota High School and later became president of the National Thespian Society. He later joined the local Asolo theatre and managed to perform in several theatre productions.

Reubens then attended Plymouth State University but for reasons left for Boston University after the first semester. He struggled a bit to get admission into acting school after he graduated from Boston University.

However, after several attempts and auditions, he finally got the opportunity to study acting at the California Institute of the Arts. He had to do some menial jobs when he arrived in California to fend for himself.

He later started performing as a comedian at various local comedy clubs in the 1970s and appeared on The Gong Show four times as a guest performer. Reubens then went on to become a member of an improvisational comedy group known as “The Groundlings” for six years.

His breakthrough however came through his “The Pee-Wee Herman Show” which he started in 1981 after he failed to make it past auditions for Saturday Night Live for the 1980/1981 season. He gained a lot of fame and success as the creator and the character of Pee-Wee.

He later wrote and produced the film “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” (1985) and its spin-off “Big Top Pee-wee” (1988). Reubens then worked with CBS to air the children’s program “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” from 1986 to 1990.

He later reprised his role in 2016 in the Netflix original film “Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday” which received critical acclaim.

Paul Reubens Children: Did Paul Reubens Have Any Children?

No. Paul Reubens did not have any children with any of the women he dated. The Pee-wee creator died at the age of 70 without any offspring.

The talented actor and comedian hardly opened up about his love life. His only known relationships were with Chandi Heffner and actress Debi Mazar which he confirmed himself.

However, both relationships did not produce any children. He first married Doris Duke’s adopted daughter, Chandi Heffner in 1989. He later started a relationship with actress Debi Mazar in 1993 and later credited her for the role she played in helping him overcome depression.

They broke up in 1999 and since then failed to disclose his relationship status to the public.

Was Paul Reubens Married When He Died?

No. Reubens died on July 30, 2023, without a wife and children. His only known marriage was to Chandi Heffner in 1989 but divorced after a few years.
