The Managing Director of the State Transport Company ( STC) has given his bit on the Economic Intelligence Unit Report themed “Five-year Forecast.”
The EIU is a London based institution specialized in political and economic analysis. The analyst’s recent predictions ascertains the opposition New Democratic Congress will take a lead in the 2024 general polls in Ghana should they present a candidate other than John Dramani Mahama.
However, according to Nana Akomea, the revelation isn’t a surprise but rather interesting as the ruling New Patriotic Party is fully aware of its unpopularity amongst the Ghanaian populous. He also revealed that the party shall lose only when the polls are conducted in the “present conditions” of Ghana which he doubts would be so in 2024.
Nana Akomea while addressing the panelists on Citi TV’s “The Chambers ” programme revealed that; “Everyone in this country, including the NPP is well aware that if an election is held now, with the current circumstances, the NPP will not be the most popular party.
“Fortunately for us, elections will not be held today. We have over 2 more years to go, which gives us more than enough time to remedy the current difficulties and get back into the good books of the majority of the voters. We are thus not worried about any such report.”
