Nate Dogg was born on August 19, 1969, and he was an American singer and rapper. Nate Dogg is his name as a singer and rapper but in real life, he is known as Nathaniel Dwayne Hale.

His popularity became obvious as he was noted for his ability to come up with great vocals for a lot of hit rap songs between 1992 and 2007. This peculiar ability he possessed earned him the nickname King of Hooks.

It must be emphasized that Nate Dogg was born in Long Beach, California and while growing up, he sang at Long Beach’s New Hope Baptist Church.

Nate Dogg’s father was the pastor of the church. He was not limited to singing at his father’s church but also ministered at Life Line Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He dropped out of high school when he was only 17 years old and also left home.

About a month later, he was enlisted in the Marines.

Quite unfortunately for Nate Dogg, on December 19, 2007, he suffered a stroke. After a week’s stay at the Pomona Alley Hospital Medical Center, he had to make time in a rehabilitation facility.

His cognition and voice were not affected even though the left side of his body had weakened.

However, Nate Dogg suffered another stroke on September 12, 2008, and unfortunately gave up the ghost on March 15, 2011. At the time of his death, he was 41 years and his death was attributed to the complications of multiple strokes.

Music Career

It was in the early 1990s that the career of Nate Dogg got to a start. He was a member of the trio called 213 of which he was the founder. He came together with his cousin Snoop Dogg and Warren G in 1990 to form the trio.

Nate Dogg got the opportunity to be featured on Warre6G’s single titled Regulate. The song eventually became number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and this became a stepping stone for the success story of Nate Dogg as a singer and rapper.

He became an obvious face so far as the West Coast hip hop genre was concerned; regularly working with Dr.Dre, Xzibit as well as Snoop Dogg in the 1990s.

Many other artists used him in their songs due to his deep vocals and the fact that he was good at providing hooks. Later in the 2000s, Nate Dogg worked with the likes of 50 Cent, Fabolous, Eminem, Mos Def as well as Ludacris. He chatted 16 times on the Billboard Hot 100 as a featured artist.
