The MP for Assin Central; Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has recently been in news for calling out certain unpatriotic members of the New Patriotic Party. The mp has been verbally attacking these members and also building claims against them.
The most prominent of his backlashes is the one against Hon. Adwoa Safo, MP for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency. Hon. Adwoa Safo has been absent from parliament for a while now and the Assin Central MP suggests she’s holding the party to ransome. He also claim, she’s the one person obstructing the approval of the infamous e-levy.
Hon.Kennedy Agyapong during one of his numerous interviews disclosed that, some members of the NPP are currently not committed to the course of the party. According to him, such individuals are glued on their own personal interests at the expense of the party.
While ranting, he disclosed that he’s always been committed to the course of the party to the extent of him facing many court case because of the party. He babbled that, the only court case against him which wasn’t as a result of his support for the party was when he publicly insulted a judge of the court of law.
“We all have problems in the party. Me let me tell you, all the sacrifices I have made, with the exception of the judge that I was annoyed (because) they wanted to take my land and I insulted them, every court case that I have in this country is because of NPP. But nobody in NPP has even asked ‘how is the court case,” he stated.
He therefore cautioned mps and members of the NPP to stop holding their beliefs and interest first. According to him, such acts are sabotaging the image of the party.”We all have problems but party first. So if you think you have a problem and the way you are going to operate is to sabotage the party, now you are asking the president to remove the deputy majority leader for you to be the deputy majority leader. I will also go to America and tell President Akufo-Addo that resign before I come,” Kennedy Agyapong said.
