Moon Bin Biography 

Moon Bin was a South Korean singer, actor, dancer and a model who died on April 19, 2023 at his Gangnam residence in Seoul, South Korea. He was born on January 26, 1998 in Cheongju, North Chungcheong in South Korea.

He is the eldest child of his parents two children with his younger sibling being a female by name Moon Sua. Moonbin and his sister were raised by both parents in Cheongju and had his high school education at Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul, South Korea where he majored in Practical Music.

Until his death in April 2023, Moonbin was signed to Fantagio, a South Korean entertainment company that runs as a talent training and management agency, record label and a movie and K-drama production company. He started receiving training at Fantagio right from when he was in fifth grade and became an established trainee while in middle school.

In 2004, Moon Bin’s mother convinced him to begin a career as a child model at the age of 8 but gained his first real experience in 2006 in a music video by TVXQ for their song “Balloons.”

Moonbin then made his acting debut three years later in 2009 in the Korean drama “Boys over Flowers.”

Moonbin joined the South Korean boy group Astro in 2016 as part of the initial six members of the group. They released their debut extended playlist titled “Spring Up”  on February 23, 2016. The EP had five songs on it, ie.  “Hide & Seek”, “Cat’s Eye”, “Morning Call”, “Innocent Love” and “OK! Ready.”

Spring Up was an instant success and was the beginning of the group’s success story. The album appeared on the Billboard World Album (2016) chart. It peaked at #6 for two week which brought about an increase in their fan base in their home country and across the world.

Astro has since followed it up with 6 other successful albums as at 2022 ie. You and Me (Thanks Aroha), By Your Side, Merry Go Round, One & Only One, Footprint and Let’s go ride.

As an actor, Moonbin starred in films like Moments of Eighteen, The Mermaid Prince, Mermaid Prince: the beginning, No Going Back Romance, etc.

He was found dead by his manager on April 19, 2023 at his residence in Gangnam, Seoul. Earlier reports suggests he may have died through suicide. An autopsy is yet to be conducted to determine the actual cause of his death.
