Memo Remigi First Wife. Meet Lucia Russo

Memo, whose real name is Emidio Remigi, is a well-known personality in the Italian entertainment industry. He is a gifted singer, songwriter, radio host, and television presenter. His professional path from regional recognition to national notoriety, began on May 27, 1938, in Erba, Italy.

Early Life

Growing up in Como, his parents’ hometown, Remigi’s early musical instincts led him to pick up the guitar. Giovanni D’Anzi brought him to prominence by discovering his skill in the early 1960s. The pivotal moment came when he won the “Festival della canzone di Liegi” with the song “Oui, je sais,” which led to a record deal with Karim and the recording of his first hits. He then relocated to Varese.

Career

Remigi became a member of Ri-Fi in October 1964. He gained notoriety in 1965 when he performed in “Un disco per l’estate,” introducing the Alberto Testa-penned song “Innamorati a Milano”. This was a turning point in his career and made him a performer to be reckoned with.

The song “Io ti darò di più,” performed by Orietta Berti and Ornella Vanoni at the Sanremo Festival in 1965, was created by Remigi. Both musicians adopted the song as their signature tune, which improved Remigi’s reputation in the music business.

Remarkable entries such as “Dove credi di andare” in 1967 with Sergio Endrigo, “Una famiglia” in 1969 with Isabella Iannetti, and “Il mondo è qui” in 1973 marked the continuation of his involvement with the Sanremo Festival.

Remigi recorded songs honoring the Lombard capital for their album “Emme come Milano,” which was published in 1974. In 1977, he sang the intense song “Torna a casa mamma” with his eight-year-old son Stefano, which dealt with issues of separation. He also wrote hit songs, such as “Salvatore,” which Ombretta Colli made famous.

Beyond the entertainment sphere, Remigi raised awareness by endorsing LILT’s anti-smoking campaign in 2006 with the music video for the song “Basta, basta, sigaretta.” He put out CDs honoring Gorni Kramer and Giovanni D’Anzi. The richness of his musical legacy was further demonstrated in 2008 with the release of “Sembra ieri,” a double CD anthology comprising his successes, songs about Milan, and unreleased material.

On July 9, 2011, during the eleventh edition of the “Grand Prix Corallo Città di Alghero,” Emidio Remigi received a lifetime achievement award. He ran on the Union of the Center’s lists in 2013 as a candidate for the Lombardy area. Since 2017, Remigi has been on “Propaganda Live,” which Diego Bianchi hosts on LA7, on a regular basis.
