Vincent Valentin Gross was born and raised in Switzerland, even though his parents are from Northern Germany. Vincent was interested in music from a young age, obtaining a ukulele at the age of four and playing drums on cooking pots.
He went on to study the lute and join the children’s church choir, where he demonstrated his singing abilities. Vincent’s older brother gave him his first guitar chords when he was fourteen years old.
Vincent followed his academic education as well as his musical interest, majoring in psychology at the University of Basel for three semesters. Vincent trained in Taekwondo for 13 years alongside his academics, obtaining two black belts and becoming the Swiss champion.
Vincent began his music career by publishing his songs under a pseudonym on YouTube since he lacked the guts to perform them in front of his friends.
However, he gained a lot of support from the platform’s viewers, which inspired him to submit for the Swiss Talent Award in 2014. Vincent competed in the talent competition for the Swiss primetime TV show “Hello Again” in 2015, and was named Hello Again Newcomer 2015 by the Swiss TV audience.
Vincent finished third in the Swiss preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Half a Smile” in 2016. As a result of this accomplishment, he signed his first record contract with Ariola/Sony Music Germany.

He released singles under the alias Telamo, including “Über uns die Sonne,” “Chill Out Time,” and “I Give You My Heart.”
Vincent’s third album, “Hautnah,” was published on January 29, 2021, and peaked at number seven on the German album charts. It also debuted at the top of the album charts in Switzerland.
