David Caruso can be described as an American retired actor and producer who was born on January 7, 1956. As an actor, David Caruso is well-known for the roles he played in the ABC crime drama NYPD Blue (1993-1994) as well as in the CBS series CSI: Miami(2002-2012). In NYPD Blue, he played the role of Detective John Kelly and played the role in Lieutenant Horatio Caine in CSI: Miami.

Other films David Caruso made appearances in include An Officer and a Gentleman, First Blood (1982), Twins(1988), King of New York(1990), Kiss of Death (1995) as well as Proof of Life (2000).

David Caruso was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York to Joan and Charles Caruso. Joan was a librarian and Charles Caruso was a magazine and newspaper editor. When David Caruso was just two years old, his father left the family.

David Caruso was raised up as a Catholic and had his education at the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School in Forest Hills as well as Archbishop Molloy High School. It must be noted that David Caruso served as a cinema usher and he had the chance to watch about 80 movies a week. He saw the likes of Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney and Edward Robinson as his role models.

David Caruso is said to have a number of children with different ladies. He has a daughter, Greta with his second wife, actress Rachel Ticotin. He also has two children with his former girlfriend, Liza Marquez. The children are Marquez and Paloma.

Unfortunately, Liza Marquez in April 2009, filed a case against David Caruso for fraud, breach of their settlement agreement as well as emotional distress. It must also be noted that in March 2009, a woman was placed in custody in Austria for stalking David Caruso.

David Caruso in 1994 won a Golden Globe Award and this was for his role as John Kelly in NYPD Blue. He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.  He was also nominated in 2001 for the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actor-Suspense and it was for his role as Dino in the film titled Proof of Life.
