Mario Felix Liebold Biography
Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1974, Liebold’s love for coffee blossomed during his visits to Brazil as an export manager for a dental technology company.

In 2007, Liebold established the specialised café Felix with his mother, Christa Liebold-Bayerlein. His quest to open his own coffee roastery officially began at this point.
Soon after, on the lovely shores of Lake Tegernsee, he established the Erste Tegernsee coffee roastery. Liebold established a name for his business with tenacity and enthusiasm, winning over coffee connoisseurs with his superior goods.
Mario Felix Liebold tragically passed away on May 1 at the age of 49 due to a serious illness. Despite his early passing, his mother, Christa Liebold-Bayerlein, still oversees the roastery, making sure that his legacy endures.
Beyond Lake Tegernsee, Liebold was devoted to coffee. He rose to prominence in the field as a result of his knowledge and enthusiasm.
He was recognised for his dedication to quality in 2012 by being crowned “Best Roaster of the Year” in Germany. As a result, he frequently appeared as a guest on radio and television shows to impart his wisdom to a larger audience.
However, Liebold’s goal went much beyond just making top-notch coffee. In order to conduct studies on improving coffee quality, he leased fields on plantations owned by coffee producers in Tanzania and Guétemala.
Liebold always made sure that the coffee growers received better compensation than the industry average because he valued fair cooperation and transparency in his business dealings.
His ideology was based on his commitment to moral behaviour.
The Liebold Company moved to its current Weissach, Tegernseer Str. 101 locations in 2016. The brand-new building, a glass factory with an espresso bar, effortlessly combines the shop environment with the roastery.
