German actress Margarete Haagen, popularly known as Margarethe, was born in Nuremberg on November 29, 1889, and passed away in Munich on November 19, 1966.

At the age of six, Margarete Hagen, an actress from Nuremberg, started her profession. At seventeen, she started her acting career and studied privately with several Nuremberg actresses.

The Deutsches Theater Lodz and the Schauspielhaus in Stuttgart were among the locations where she made her stage debut in 1907,, after making her debut at the Intimate Theater.

She relocated to the Volkstheater in Berlin and Munich in 1930, and in 1944, the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda listed her among its divinely gifted individuals.

In theater and cinema, Haagen represented strong, independent women. In 1944, she landed her first significant role as a grandmother.

Between 1955 and 1957, she had a lot of success in acting, playing characters such as “Grandma Jantzen” in the Immenhof trilogy and the lead character and great-grandmother in Her 106th Birthday.
