Malina Olinescu was a Romanian singer and she was born on January 29, 1974. She represented her country, Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998.
She entered the contest with the song titled EU cred which means ‘ I believe ‘. With all her points coming from Israel, Malina Olinescu placed 22nd with a total of 6 points.
Malina Olinescu is said to have been born into a family of artists and it is worth noting that her professional career got to a start in 1995.
That was when she started making appearances in Romanian’s well-known and loved music festivals such as Mamaia and Cerbul de Aur(Golden Stag).
The release of Mi-e Dor De Tine in 1997 turned things around for her as the song became a National hit song.
She also released the album titled Pot Sa Zbor and right afterwards, the album became a hit. Malina Olinescu, in 1983, participated in the Romanian national final and she took part using the song Tecerea Doare ( The Silence Hurts).
Malina Olinescu’s Death
It was reported that on December 12, 2011, Malina Olinescu took her own life by falling out of the 6th-floor window of the building in which she lived.
It was reported that a Smurd ambulance was called to the location of the incident. They tried to revive the young lady who had fallen from the window on the 6th floor of the building in which she stayed and it was later that the lady was identified to be Malina Olinescu.
Her friends suspected that she may have committed suicide due to the fact that she and her boyfriend had separated.
A friend of Malina Olinescu, Calin Geambasu also indicated that she had threatened to commit suicide several times before she eventually went ahead to do so.
