Lorenzo Sonego can be described as an Italian professional tennis player. Sonego was born on May 11, 1995, and achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 21 on October 4, 2021.

He was born in Turin and started playing tennis at a young age. At age 11 he had already started playing tennis and he had encouragement from his father and his coach Gipo Arbino. When Sonego was between 6 and 13 years old, he played for the Torino youth academy before concentrating on tennis.
He is a fan of the football club, Torino. In May 2016, Sonego made his ATP Tour debut at the Italian Open. He received a wild card and lost against João Sousa in the first round.
Later in October 2017, he won his first Challenger title after defeating Tim Pütz at the 2017 Sparkassen ATP Challenger. 2018 marked the Grand Slam career of Sonego as he had a win over Robin Haase at the 2018 Australian Open.
However, in the second round, he was beaten by Richard Gasquet. Sonego lost to Ernest Gulbis in the third round of qualifying for the 2018 Wimbledon.
Sonego reached the quarterfinals of Monte-Carlo and he beat 8th seed Karen Khachanov. However, he lost to eventual runner-up Dušan Lajović in straight sets. He won his first ATP title in Antalya, Turkey in June 2019, after defeating Serbian Miomir Kecmanović in three sets in the final.
