Linda was born on 23 February 1959, and she was born into a large family as the sixth of eight children to Tommy and Maureen Nolan.
Linda is the sixth of eight children born to Tommy and Maureen Nolan. Tommy and Maureen Nolan formed the Singing Nolans, a musical group, after moving from Raheny, Dublin, to Blackpool, England, in 1962. Linda’s passion for music was obvious early on, and she joined the family band, which eventually led to the formation of the renowned female group, the Nolans.
She attended St.. Catherine’s Catholic Secondary School in Blackpool before progressing to The Cardinal Wiseman School in Greenford, London.
Linda and her sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Bernie, and Coleen formed the Nolans in 1974, and the group went on to become one of the most popular acts of the 20th century.
The group’s major breakthrough came when they toured with Frank Sinatra in 1975, which was an important stage in their career. Their most famous song, “I’m in the Mood for Dancing,” became a classic, and the trio had a streak of UK top-20 successes from 1979 to 1982. They also won the renowned Tokyo Music Festival in 1981. Despite their popularity, Linda left the group in 1983.
Linda’s career in the spotlight continued with a number of projects when she left the Nolans. Her performances in the theater, especially in Blackpool, brought her a lot of notice. She played Maggie May in an eight-season tenure at Blackpool’s Central Pier from 1986 to 1993, performing more than 1,000 times. She became well-known for her portrayal of Maggie May and became a seasoned live theater performer.
Linda also performed in a number of other theatrical plays, such as 1994–1995’s Rosie O’Grady on Blackpool’s South Pier. Between 1996 and 1997, she costarred with Paul O’Grady as the jail governor in Prisoner: Cell Block H—The Musical.
In 2014, Linda took part in the 13th series of Celebrity Big Brother, where she gained attention for her candid personality and interactions with fellow housemates.
