The University of Ghana, Legon swimming pool is the biggest and the deepest swimming pool in the country. Since its renovation was completed in 2020, the pool has now become one of the top-notch swimming pools in the country.
The UG Swimming Pool has a capacity of 2000 cubic meters and a 500m3/hour turnover rate (complete turnover every four hours). It has six lap swimming lanes and is 50 meters long, 17.5 meters wide, and 1.25.5 meters deep from shallow to deep. The greatest number of individuals who can bathe is 200. Each side of the pool basin has four entry and exit steps.
The University of Ghana Sports Directorate, which is close to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, has a swimming and diving pool with a tiny circular children’s pool. Male and female changing facilities, a first aid station, an assembly point, and emergency exits are all available throughout the UG Swimming Pool. It has a restaurant that is open seven days a week.
Swimming is really developing in Ghana as a sport with many of the current generation showing great interest in it.

Leisure/Walk-in swimming
The walk-in swimming is mainly fun-based swimming and it is open to everyone. Operational days are as follows

NB: The swimming lessons take 15 sessions within 6 weeks and its is 1 hour per session each day.
The Children’s lessons are taken only on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
