Keith Moon was an English musician born on August 23, 1946. He was the drummer for the rock band The Who. Keith Moon grew up in Wembley and started playing the drums in the early 1960s. He played with a local band but later on in 1964, he joined The Who before the release of their first single.
With respect to his drumming style, he emphasized on tom-toms, cymbal crashes, and drum fills.
When Keith Moon was still with The Who, his drum kit grew in size and on a regular basis, he teamed with other musicians. He also made appearances in films but ensured that The Who was his priority.
He was also noted for destroying hotel rooms while on tour. He would blow up toilets and destroy television sets. He enjoyed touring and meeting new people and as such he always became bored when The Who was inactive. His chauffeur, Neil Boland died in the 1970s .
The marriage of Keith Moon also suffered a setback and had an issue with alcoholism. There were several times he passed out while on tour with The Who.
Keith Moon: Cause of Death
In 1978, Keith Moon relocated to London from Los Angeles. He died in September 1978 due to an overdose of clomethiazole. Clomethiazole was a drug used to treat and prevent symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.
Keith Moon was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1982, posthumously. In 2011, he was also voted the second-greatest drummer in history by a Rolling Stone readers’ poll. Keith Moon was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as a member of the Who.

The parents of Keith Moon were Alfred Charles (Alf) and Kathleen Winifred (Kit) Moon. Keith Moon was born at the Central Middlesex Hospital in northwest London but grew up in Wembley. He was a student at Alperton Secondary Modern School but he failed his eleven plus exam
Other Details
He joined the local Sea Cadet Corps band when he was 12 years old. It was difficult learning how to play the bugle so he opted to learn to play the drums. Keith Moon, at the age of 14 enrolled at Harrow Technical College which helped him to get a job as a radio repairman, enabling him to buy his first drum kit
