Karl Bernhard Dall was a well-known comedian, singer, and TV host from Germany. He was born in Emden, Germany, on February 1, 1941. His parents were a teacher and a school rector.
In 1971, Dall married Barbara, with whom he had a daughter named Janina, who went on to become a stuntwoman in Canada. He was a Hamburg-Eppendorf resident.
Dall’s career started when he finished his apprenticeship as a typesetter and dropped out of school after the tenth grade. In 1967, he joined Ingo Insterburg, Jรผrgen Barz, and Peter Ehlebracht in founding the comedy ensemble Insterburg & Co. He also produced the TV programme Musikladen for Radio Bremen during this period.
In addition to his work in television, Dall enjoyed success in the film industry, starring in films like “Sunshine Reggae auf Ibiza” and “Das verrรผckte Strandhotel”. He was given the “Award of the offended viewers” in 1994 and the “Deutscher Comedypreis Ehrenpreis” in 1999 in recognition of his life’s work.
“Auge zu und durch”, Dall’s autobiography, was released in September 2006. Dall tragically lost away on November 23, 2020, following a stroke that occurred twelve days prior.
