Johanna Hofer was a German actress who was born on July 30, 1896, in Charlottebmnburg near Berlin. She however died on June 30, 1988, in Munich.It must be noted that Johanna Hofer played under Max Reinhardt at the Deutsche Theater in Berlin when she was still an acting student.
She became part of the Frankfurt am Main Theater between 1915 and 1917. She took part in Leopold Jessner’s production for the Berlin State Theatre.
Due to the attacks by the National Socialists against Kortner, Johanna Hofer relocated to the United States of America after going through Switzerland, Austria and England. She made appearances in the refugee drama titled Another Sun in 1940 as well as other films.
She made a return to Berlin later in 1948. Johanna Hofer is known to have played at the Munich Kammerspiele, at the Berlin Schillertheatre as well as the Schaubuhne am Halleschen Ufer.
She also became well known for the roles she played in the series Derrick, The Old Man and The Pawlaks.
She has a lot of films and radio plays to her credit.
