Thorsten Zirkel Biography
Thorsten Zirkel was born on November 11, 1977, in Celle, Germany. He grew up in Celle and attended the local Hermann-Billung-Gymnasium, where he completed his Abitur in 1997.
After finishing high school, Zirkel decided to pursue a career in banking.
Zirkel relocated to Hanover in 2001, and he currently resides there. He started working in the banking sector here, in this capacity. Zirkel’s true love, though, is the world of trivia and quizzes.
When he took part in the well-known RTL programme Wer wird Millionär in 2006, Zirkel experienced his first taste of quiz show success. His charismatic performance won him a prize worth 16,000 euros. His interest for quizzes was further stoked by this event.
Zirkel’s commitment and expertise were recognised in 2013 when he won the prestigious ZDF game show Der Quiz-Champion. He won a stunning 500,000 euros for his outstanding performance, enhancing his standing as a competitive quizzer.
