Tan Caglar is a renowned German-Turkish comedian, presenter, actor, model and a former wheelchair basketball player born on July 13, 1980, in Hildesheim, Germany. He was born with a spinal cord disease known as spina bifida although it wasn’t severe at the time.

While growing up, Caglar developed an interest in basketball and played till his condition made it impossible for him to move around without the aid of a wheelchair. He played for Eintracht Hildesheim in the Oberliga from when he was 12 years old until the disease affected his movement.

Even after the spinal cord disease restricted him to the wheelchair, Caglar continued to play basketball but this time as a wheelchair player. However, life became unbearable for him at some point which caused him to suffer from a depression that made him retire.
