Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, has expressed his astonishment at the early failures of the John Mahama administration. Even though he had anticipated this failure, he thought it would take longer for it to surface.
In an interview monitored by Ghana Insider on Asaasepa Radio, the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyire pointed out that the issues emerging from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government have become visible within just six months of their tenure.
Criticizing recent cocaine smuggling and money laundering remarks made by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications, Annoh-Dompreh highlighted a contradiction in the government’s stance. He argued that when a minister speaks on behalf of the president, their words carry the weight of the presidency itself.
“In one instance, the President calls for corroboration and collaboration while, in another, his minister hastily accuses Reverend John Ntim Fordjour of lying and labels him a clown,” he stated. Annoh-Dompreh warned that such reckless comments could lead to further complications for the government.
Annoh-Dompreh has urged Ghanaians to brace themselves for a wave of scandals that he believes will emerge before the 2026 elections. “By next year, you will see the kind of scandals that will envelop the Mahama administration,” he asserted. He again emphasized that while he does not wish ill upon the government, the signs of trouble are already becoming apparent.

“The NDC’s fall is happening too quickly,” he added, noting that it typically takes a government longer to reveal its challenges. This prediction comes amid rising conversation around government transparency and allegations of misconduct, suggesting that the John Mahama’s administration may face increasing scrutiny in the coming months.
