In 1984, Darjes played a pivotal role as one of the seven founding members of the Bremer Shakespeare Company, a collective dedicated to reimagining the timeless works of the Bard for contemporary audiences. However, it was her departure from the theater collective in 1992 that marked a new chapter in Darjes’ illustrious career. Central to her repertoire was the Virginia Woolf monologue “A Room of One’s Own,” a production she curated and performed over 500 times across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
