Hennes Bender is a well-known German comedian, voice actor, and actor who was born Hans-Günther Bender on February 19, 1968 in Bochum. His family moved to Bochum when the Opel plant opened, and it is where he was raised.
In 1992, Bender and Heinz-Peter Lengkeit founded the comic team Lengkeit gegen Bender, marking the start of his comedic career. In 1997, he received his master’s degree in film from Ruhr University Bochum, where he studied mediaeval symbolism in Terry Gilliam and Monty Python’s films.
In 1998, Bender began hosting the Sunday comic radio programme “Toast” on Hessischer Rundfunk’s hr XXL youth channel. In 2000, he debuted on television on the reality show “Money for Your Life” on TM03.
He has since made appearances on several comedy shows and television series, including “NightWash,” “Zimmer frei!”, “Quatsch Comedy Club,” and “Vier sind das Volk.”
In addition, Bender performed solo comedy tours throughout Germany and was a part of the musical comedy group Burger Queen. For his comedic work, he has won numerous accolades, such as the German Comedy Award for Best Newcomer in 2004 and the Kurt Magnus Prize in 1999.
