Hellmut Lange was an actor and journalist who was born on January 19, 1923. Hellmut Lange became known after he had moderated the popular TV show Kennen Sie Kino? or Do You Know Film? Hellmut Lange moderated Kennen Sie Kino? or Do You Know Film?. from 1971 to 1981.

He was also known as an action hero on TV. It must be noted that the acting career of Hellmut Lange started off on various radio drama shows for the West German Radio Station Sender Freies Berlin also known as Radio Free Berlin. After completing and graduating from school, Hellmut Lange got trained in acting for two years in Hanover.

Afterward, he worked as a stage actor in Munich. Over the years, Hellmut Lange has been involved in several television films. He played the lead role in The Forger of London a German Edgar Wallace adaption for cinema. He also played the role in a TV mini-series based on a story by Francis Durbridge as well as in the series John Kling.

Hellmut Lange was also involved in a European miniseries based on James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales and he made an appearance in  Patton (1969). Hellmut Lange was the German voice for Richard Harris, Charlton Heston, Paul Newman and other American stars for the German dubbed versions of their feature films.

He was also on high demand as an author of articles about cinema. Hellmut Lange retired from TV and acting when he was over 70 years old reportedly due to ill-health.
