Harald Schmidt Parkinson: All You Need To Know

Harald Schmidt is a German actor, comedian, television presenter and writer. He was born on August 18, 1957, and he is quite popular and known as the host of two popular German late-night shows.

Harald Schmidt spent his childhood days in Swabian Nürtingen and he devoted his time as a choirmaster in the Roman Catholic Church. He also played the organ in church.

When Harald Schmidt turned 21, he decided to attend Drama school in Stuttgart for three years. After learning drama in school for that period, he also gained on-stage experience Städtische Bühne (Municipal Stage) in Augsburg. He played a role in Nathan the Wise and in 1984, he became a lyricist for the cabaret Kom(m)ödchen in Düsseldorf.

Harald Schmidt was given the accolade “Best Newcomer cabaret artist” and subsequently toured Germany with his own show.

He hosted his own Television show, MAZ ab in 1988 and followed up with shows such as Psst! and Schmidteinander. His popularity and fame soared in 1992 after he started Verstehen Sie Spaß? (a variation of Candid Camera) , a Saturday night show.

Harald Schmidt has won a lot of awards but one of the most important TV awards he has won is the Adolf-Grimme-Preis. He also received the “Entertainer of the Year” award, the Bambi Award and the Golden Camera.

Together with Manuel Andrack, toured the whole of Germany with a live comedy. In 1995, Harald Schmidt moved from ARD to the privately owned German television network Sat.1.

At Sat.1, he hosted a late -night show similar to Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Late Show with David Letterman.

His show was named  Die Harald Schmidt Show and it was a show that featured famous national and international guests as well as stand-up comedians.

The end of the  Die Harald Schmidt Show was announced on December 8, 2003, as a result of change in management at Sat.1 and the last show was aired on December 23, 2003.

Harald Schmidt is married to Ellen Hantsch, a school teacher. He has five children.

There is no report or evidence to suggest that Harald Schmidt is suffering from Parkinson.
