At the Schwerin Court Theater, he made his theatrical debut as an Eleve while undergoing acting training. Cities including Hamburg, Halle, and Breslau were visited by him throughout his theatrical pursuits.
The most important period of Mierendorff’s career was spent in Berlin, where he performed on several stages from 1911 to 1919. The Residenztheater, Lessingtheater, Deutsches Kรผnstlertheater, and Meinhard Bernauer Theaters were among the notable locations. His portrayals demonstrated his flexibility, garnering him praise as an actor fit to play refined and dignified gents.
In 1911, Mierendorff made his screen debut in the Henny Porten picture “The Adoptive Child.” Working together that same year on Urban Gad’s “The Strange Bird,” starring Asta Nielsen, was a major accomplishment. He became a sought-after actor in silent films due to his sophisticated character.
In 1944, during World War II, Mierendorff found himself on the God-Given list of the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. The war, however, marked a transition in his career.
